The Central Southern Maryland Pediatric Medical Society is a physician forum–now 100 members strong and growing–that gives providers the opportunity to share and learn.

As we began planning for a new regional medical center in Central Southern Maryland, Children’s National physicians took a comprehensive look at pediatric healthcare needs in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s Counties.

The Central Southern Maryland Pediatric Medical Society was born when we discovered the region’s pediatricians really wanted a discussion forum for sharing information on:

  •        Clinical issues
  •        Best practices
  •        Local healthcare policy
  •        The general healthcare landscape
As the forum evolves, member feedback has helped determine session topics. For example, behavioral health has been a particular focus for the group. So, last year, the society hosted two educational sessions; one on Autism and the other on access to mental health services for children.
