What patients and families need to know
The Children's National Research Institute
Biostatistics Epidemiology and Research Design
The Division of Biostatistics and Study Methodology at the Children’s Research Institute serves the research community as part of the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) module of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at Children’s National (CTSI-CN). The CTSI-CN provides funds to support statistical consultation, analysis and proposal development. The CTSI-CN BERD also includes the George Washington University Biostatistics and Epidemiology Consulting Service.
Biostatistics and Epidemiology Consulting Service (BECS)
BECS provides high-quality biostatistical and epidemiologic consultative services in study design, statistical analysis, data management and data dissemination. The team of faculty and staff also support the education component of BERD through courses, seminars and online presentations. The group is directed by Sam Simmens, Ph.D., who is also the Co-Director of the CTSI-CN BERD along with Dr. Bost. Visit the project information page on the George Washington University website for more information.
As part of our BERD funded efforts, all requestors can be provided with up to four hours of free support. Additional free support can be provided on a case-by-case basis especially for proposal development or for K-awardees. See the DBSM home page for additional pricing options. CTSI-CN requests for services should go through the SPARC request portal. Visit the Request for Services page for more information on the SPARC request portal.
