Research

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship Program offers fellows multiple opportunities for research. Children’s National and its academic affiliate, George Washington University, sponsor courses in biostatistics, epidemiology and clinical research methods. Collaboration is available through the Children’s National Research Institute, Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital Neuroscience Research Center and the National Institutes of Health.

Dedicated research time on average 7-8 days per month during the first year and 5-6 days per month during the second year of training is built into outpatient rotations. Each fellow is expected to complete at least one research project and one quality improvement (QI) project during the fellowship.
