Course Director Letter

A Letter from our Course Director

Letterhead

Dear Colleagues,

As providers who impact child health, our responsibility is substantial.  For that reason we take our jobs as healthcare educators just as seriously.  For the past 26 years we have provided a comprehensive and practical review of pediatrics that is focused on the topics highlighted by the American Board of Pediatrics Content Outline.

But serious doesn’t need to be boring. This year, we will continue to achieve our standard of providing a comprehensive and engaging course using the following methods:
  • Our hand-selected faculty members are our most valuable asset.  They bring expertise from acknowledged by the US News and World Report Honor Roll of Best Children’s Hospitals.
  • You don’t have to scour the 77 page ABP exam content outline because we have already reviewed the 2017 update for you and are now busily incorporating it into our course!
  • Our educational expertise is top notch with much of our course faculty having advanced education in education and serving in educational roles.  This helps us make a week-long course engaging!
  • We partnered  with Cadmium CD, experts in educational conference apps, to introduce our interactive app.  It can be accessed from your computers, tablets, and smart phones for highlighting, bookmarking, and note taking right on the presenter’s slides.  You keep it as long as you like to guide your studies.   A paper syllabus is also available.
  • What board review course would be complete without lots of questions?  Throughout the week, our participants answer over 300 board-style questions with live feedback from experts.  Our online question bank contains over 200 more practice questions that have been edited by experts and certified by the ABP for MOC Part 2 credit.
  • If you can’t join us in August, nearly all of the benefits of our live course are also included in our Home Study Courses.  You can even register for and begin the 205 Home Study Course right now!

If all that isn’t enough, we truly enjoy George Washington University’s campus in Foggy Bottom and experiencing everything else Washington, D.C. has to offer in the summer.  The amazing restaurants, cultural events, free Smithsonian museums, and kayaking on the Georgetown waterfront are just a few of D.C.’s summertime attractions that are much appreciated after a day of learning.

Each year I enjoy meeting our participants from around the globe.  I hope to meet you this summer as well.
