Improving Disparities in Health and Health Care
Children’s National Hospital has a long-standing commitment to ameliorating disparities in health and health care that affect the many disadvantaged, low-income and minority children in the Washington, D.C., metro area. Collectively, these projects reinforce the ongoing engagement of Children’s National in the local community through collaborative research that applies rigorous scientific inquiry to better understand and effectively address health disparities.
Monika Goyal, M.D., MSCE, leads a research program designed to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in the provision of health care, focusing on sexual and reproductive health services in the emergency department.
