Samantha Bento, MA, is a clinical research coordinator and interventionist on the Plan, Reflect, and Engage with Providers for Diabetes Care (PREP-DC) study, an intervention designed to improve patient-provider communication among adolescents with Type 1 diabetes who are in the process of transitioning to adult care. She is currently a clinical psychology Ph.D. candidate at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her research interests include pediatric pain management, psychoneuroimmunology and the psychosocial functioning and coping mechanisms of children diagnosed with a chronic illness.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring the DMV area.
