  • Dr. del Campo has worked in collaboration with researchers in Brazil, Spain, Puerto Rico, and the United States to study microcephaly and other developmental disorders caused by prenatal infection of the Zika virus and has evaluated over 100 children with the microcephaly phenotype. He coordinated the Genetic Fetal Diagnosis program in Barcelona, developed and implemented the first Telegenetics Consultation service and research program at the Pompeu Fabra University in Spain, and coordinated and was director of the Scientific Committee for the Orphanet Spain, a European Commission funded project. Dr. del Campo provides input on dysmorphology, teratology and physical exam findings in Congenital Zika Syndrome. In addition, Dr. del Campo serves as a consultant on the research study, with specific focus on interpretation of phenotypic and sequencing data.
