Bringing skills from her previous work in biochemistry, Manelle studies the effects of environmental endocrine disrupting chemicals (phthalates and bisphenols) on cardiac development and function. She is currently focused on investigating the effects of in-utero chemical exposure on cardiac maturation and addressing human applicability using stem cell models and patient samples. Manelle is interested in the global health impact of environmental toxins and outside the lab she serves as Program Coordinator for the Children’s National Global Health Initiative.
