Professor, Pediatrics, Epidemiology, Nursing & Biological Sciences, University of Iowa

Dr. Murray is board certified in Pediatrics and Clinical Genetics and is a human molecular/developmental geneticist with a longstanding interest in gene/environment interactions involved in complex human traits. He played a substantial role in the development of human genetic linkage maps as part of the Human Genome Project, and has also played a major leadership role in discovering the genetic and environmental contributors to cleft lip (for which he received the Curt Stern Award) and for maternal-fetal genetic interaction in preterm birth and its complications. Dr. Murray serves as a consultant on all phases of the research study, including sample processing, DNA isolation and sequencing, whole genome sequencing analysis, and interpretation of data.
