Vascular anomalies are often a misunderstood and inappropriately managed group of conditions. Although valiant efforts have made in standardizing the classification of these lesions, confusing and outdated terminology still pervade the literature.
Eliminating these incongruities and recognizing important clinical patterns will be crucial to interdisciplinary communication among scientists and clinicians and to improving the quality of patient care through appropriate therapeutic and supportive interventions.
