Journey to excellence: Patient-centered care, innovation and reputation
Presented by
Kurt Newman, MD
President and Chief Executive Officer,
Children’s National
At his Grand Rounds presentation last year, Dr. Newman invited a grateful parent to share the story of her daughter’s care experience at Children’s National. The story highlighted our capacity to treat very complex cases and reminded us of the need to keep the patient and family experience at the center of all we do. That day, Dr. Newman called for ideas and actions to elevate the Children’s National care experience from “Good to Great.”
This year’s CEO Grand Rounds will highlight some of the many ways teams across the organization have stepped up to the challenge, and how we can build on that progress to move forward on our journey to excellence.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees of this session will be able to:
- Highlight care coordination projects that are advancing our progress from "Good to Great"
- Identify improvement metrics for patient experience, quality, and safety
- Outline priorities for the future, including elevating our innovation enterprise and national stature
