Ethics and research with children: The cancer example

This Grand Rounds lecture will review ethical considerations related to pediatric research. The history of childhood cancer research will be used as a framework to explore this complex topic. After a conceptual overview, we will review empirical findings from a series of 3 NIH-funded R01 projects which provided evidence related to communication and parental understanding, with implications for ethics and policy going forward.
