Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) Research
For 45 years, clinicians around the nation have been offering the parents of pediatric patients diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) the same grim prognosis. Now, researchers at Children’s National are seizing the opportunity to change that narrative, by exploring the genetic mutations associated with this disease to unlock the possibility of new therapies. Multidisciplinary collaboration across departments including, neurosurgery, oncology, immunology, genomics and proteomics, is critical to accelerating the pace of research discoveries being translated into clinical care.
