Improving Community Health: Going Upstream
Presented by:

Increasing evidence suggests that the cumulative effect of “adverse childhood events” (ACE’s) and ongoing “toxic stress” can have permanent impact not just on a child’s mental health- but on overall lifetime health and well-being for individuals and communities. To transform community health outcomes, broader community partnerships are needed to identify and pro-actively address these social determinants of health.
We will describe early efforts of Children’s National, the Goldberg Center for Community Pediatric Health and other community partners to collaboratively go “upstream” to improve health outcomes for our children and our community.
