The Fetal Medicine Institute at Children's National Health System presents:
The Second Annual International Symposium on the Fetal Brain
August 24 and 25, 2017 at Washington, DC's iconic Watergate Hotel
Join us for this multidisciplinary, CME-accredited two-day event featuring a 360-degree review of advances in understanding of the fetal brain, presented by a panel of world-renowned experts in the fields of maternal-fetal medicine, fetal and neonatal neurology, developmental neuroscience, neurogenetics, and imaging.
While still in progress, the symposium agenda will be arranged by the following four topic-specific sessions:
- Nurturing Brain Development in the "Ex-utero Fetus:" Can We Mimic the Intra-uterine Milieu?
- Advances in Genetic and Epigenetic Diagnosis: What's In It for the Developing Brain?
- The Emergence of Consciousness, the Awareness of Pain, and the Roots of Social Engagement.
- Developmental Origins of Neuropsychiatric Disease.
This year, in addition to our general sessions, we are excited to offer breakfast breakout sessions with practical clinical applications designed to address needs and answer questions for all members of our multidisciplinary audience.
This event is designed to encourage multidisciplinary discussion. As such, our agenda is focused on probing Q&A sessions, discussion-style breakouts, and social breaks to encourage relationship building.
