Children’s Sarah Rebstock, M.D., Discusses Kinect Technology to Help with Pain Management

Children do not have the vocabulary to adequately express the amount of pain they are in, so the new Pain Medicine Care Complex will use Kinect technology to help address this problem. Sarah Rebstock, M.D., explains how it will help researchers better manage pain in children by analyzing range of motion while they play the games, which will be a more sufficient indicator of pain level than simply asking the child how much it hurts on a scale of one to 10.
