Recent surgical advances are revolutionizing outcomes for adults suffering from achalasia and gastroparesis disorders that affect peristalsis in the esophagus and stomach, and two Children’s National physicians have traveled to locations across the country for specialized training to bring these procedures to pediatric patients in our region. Children’s National Health System is one of a few institutions nationally bringing advanced surgical treatments for achalasia and gastroparesis to pediatric patients.
