Health Information Exchanges
The Pediatric Health NetworkIQ (PHNIQ), formerly known as Children's IQ Network (CIQN), works to improve pediatric health outcomes and lower health care costs throughout the D.C. area by assisting local providers in joining health information exchanges (HIEs). These exchanges provide actionable health information on the individual level and allow for tracking, analysis and management of a community’s health and offer many other benefits for patients, providers and communities.
Carequality/CommonWell
PHNIQ is working directly with practices to implement Carequality/CommonWell Health Alliance. Carequality/CommonWell facilitates nationwide interoperability between and among the many health data sharing networks and service providers serving diverse user communities, including provider networks, vendor networks, accountable care and personal health records. The Carequality interoperability framework provides the necessary legal terms, policy requirements, technical specifications and governance processes to bridge networks and services allowing to see the entire patient record.
