Nurse Achievements and Recognition

Our Care Earns Nursing’s Highest Honors

Children’s National was once again designated a Magnet® hospital in 2015. Only 3 percent of Magnet hospitals nationwide earn redesignation after achieving an initial designation for excellence in nursing and patient care. For our dedicated and skilled nurses, the honor means hard-earned recognition. The Magnet redesignation process occurs every four years.

We Rank Among the Country’s Top Pediatric Hospitals

Children’s National is ranked in the top 20 in every specialty in the U.S. News and World Report 2016-17 Best Children’s Hospital Survey. We’re honored to be one of just four pediatric hospitals in the country—and the only one in the region—to earn this recognition.

We’re Nationally Recognized for Quality & Safety

Thanks in no small part to the skill and diligence of our nursing team, we’ve been designated a Leapfrog Group 2016 Top Hospital. In the 11 years that Leapfrog has been recognizing hospitals, Children’s National is one of only two pediatric to receive this honor eight times.

And, We’re Honored to Help Our Nurses Grow

Children’s National recently earned the Helios HR Apollo Award for Mentoring and Coaching, recognizing our nursing team’s emphasis on talent development. We deeply value our nurses and support them with the coaching and mentorship they need to advance not just their careers, but the future of children’s healthcare.
