Getting Around the City

• Metro, Bus and Bikeshare Transportation

  The Metro Rail has six Lines to help you get around Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The closest station to the Convention Center is Mt. Vernon Square on the Green and Yellow Line. Please note that the Yellow Line will operate between Huntington to Mt. Vernon Sq. only. To travel between Mt. Vernon Sq. and Greenbelt, please use the Green Line.
  
  There are many bus routes on the Metrobus and the Circulator to get you around the city. SmarTrip is the payment method for rail and bus. You can calculate your Fare by using the Trip Planner.
  
  Washington, D.C., has many bike lanes and you can find Capital Bikeshare stations around town.

• Airport Transportation

  Rideshare companies are easy to use around the D.C. area. Additionally, you can use the Metro System for airport transfers. If you fly into BWI, you can use the Penn Line for the MARC Train.

Things To Do

• Visit the Smithsonian Museums

  Washington, D.C., is home to almost all of the Smithsonian Museums, as well as the National Zoo. Admission is free of charge at all locations in Washington, D.C., although entry passes are required for the African American History and Culture Museum, the Air and Space Museum in D.C. and the National Zoo.

• Plan a Trip to the Monuments and Memorials

  Visit one of the many monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C. After being closed due to COVID-19, the Washington Monument is open again. You can also schedule a tour of the U.S. Capitol, get a free pass to visit the Library of Congress, and contact your representative to schedule a tour of the White House.
