Tory became sick with a life-threatening illness when she was just 2 years old. See why her mom says her team "gave her life back to her,” and what their care inspired her to do ...
The kindness and compassion Tory saw at the hospital inspired her at a young age.
“Tory is the person she is today because of the care she received at Children’s National,” Wendy says. “When she was a little girl in the hospital, we would walk up and down a hallway filled with stories of survivors. I’m convinced that these stories remain in her heart. She saw — at a young age — the possibilities for her future, giving her the power to achieve her own positive outcome.”
Now 19 and a student at Cornell University, Tory focuses her studies on health care. And that’s not all. She and her mom, Wendy, raise money for Children’s National and our oncology unit.
Thank YOU for believing in a healthier future for children! As you can see, you inspire the next generation of kind supporters like you.
Wendy says, “When I think about Children’s National, I don’t think of sickness and surgery. I think of life and living.”
We couldn’t have said it better. Thank you for investing in children’s lives. You’re helping kids like Tory grow up stronger.
