Making Mason Feel Important

When I was a baby, I had a big hole in my heart. My mom says I had lots of other problems, too. The reason I’m alive right now is because of Children’s National Hospital. Every time I go there, I feel happy and at home. If anything bad ever happens to me, I know they can fix it. I love my life and I love Children’s National.

Obviously, a lot of kids don’t like going to the hospital or the doctor’s office. But it’s actually fun to be at Children’s National. When I was little, I used to think the balloons in the atrium really were flying, and they made me so happy. I also love playing music and games at Seacrest Studios. The cafeteria is my other favorite place — the mac and cheese is great, and they have an ice cream machine.

The people who work at Children’s National have known me my whole life. My mom says they are experts at making kids feel important. I think she is right. That is exactly how I feel when I am there.
