Every year in the U.S., 700 parents are told their child has a deadly pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma. About half are diagnosed with stage IV, high risk disease and are given less than a 30% chance to live. Those lucky enough to survive face a lifetime of physical, emotional and developmental challenges due to years of relentless, toxic therapy.Wendy and Gavin Lindberg’s only child, Evan was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma in 2006 at the tender age of 3 at Children's National Medical Center. They had never heard of this deadly disease and had no family history of neuroblastoma. Evan was a loving, happy and creative child with limitless potential. He fought with unbelievable courage for over four years before the disease took him and everything he was going to be.In Evan’s memory, the Lindbergs have dedicated themselves to defeating neuroblastoma. Just like Evan, The Evan’s Victory Against Neuroblastoma Foundation is fighting for a cure. The EVAN Foundation’s mission is to advance the most promising research in the field with the goal of getting desperately needed new therapies to children in the clinic TODAY. They currently help to fund Dr. Tony Sandler’s research at Children's National. The Lindbergs also sponsor and run The EVAN Foundation Treats & Treasures Carts every Wednesday night on the Hematology/Oncology inpatient floor. Each fall, the EVAN Foundation hosts a golf tournament, their biggest event of the year.             Registration 9:30 – 10:45 am            Shotgun Start 11:00 am            Scramble Start            Dinner 4:30 pmTo Register:Please visit  http://www.theevanfoundation.org and click on the link at the top of the page to register online for the golf tournament.Or contact:Wendy Lindberg Evan's Victory Against Neuroblastoma Foundation 301-980-0866 wendy@theevanfoundation.org Whiskey Creek Golf Club false DD/MM/YYYY
