Patient-Inspired Holiday Décor Lights Up Four Seasons Hotel Washington, D.C.

Light Up the Season 2022

The Founders Auxiliary Board has officially kicked off the holiday season with the annual Light Up the Season event, taking place through December at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Since 2017, Light Up the Season has brought together Children’s National Hospital patients and creative design teams to create festive holiday decorations, featured throughout the hotel lobby for guests and visitors to enjoy. “We are particularly excited about this year’s event,” Blair Giannini, event co-chair, says. “The Four Seasons hired a premier design firm to transform the hotel's common areas into a holiday dreamscape. It is sure to delight guests of all ages.”

On Tuesday, November 29, our patients and their families gathered to see the magical designs they inspired. “Our family had the most wonderful time, and the whole night was magical,” said Angie O’Brien, mom of patient, Dottie. “I’m so grateful to the artists who captured Dottie’s brightness and charm in the beautiful décor! We truly appreciate everyone who made this incredible event possible.”

The event concluded with a ceremonial lighting of the holiday market tree, generously donated by Ruppert Landscape.

Light Up the Season will feature a holiday market and Teddy Bear Teas every weekend through December 18. Proceeds from these events benefit Children’s National Hospital’s patients, families and staff. For a full list of events and dates, visit the Founders Auxiliary Board’s event page.

Celebree School McLean is the event’s top sponsor. Luminary sponsors include Kimberly Casey / TTR Sotheby’s, Bognet Construction, Giannini | Gray Dental Associates, Lugano Diamonds, and WGL Energy.
