Sophie: No Birthday Gifts for Me. Instead, Help Me Help Sick Kids

Every child loves their birthday. It’s usually a day filled with cake and candles, balloons and games, and a pile of presents just waiting to be opened. But on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 1), one child isn’t asking for birthday presents. Instead, she is “donating” her birthday and asking others to help her raise $10,000 for kids at Children’s National Health System.

Sophie knows first-hand about being in a hospital. A few years ago, she broke her ankle playing soccer and had a long journey to completely heal. Today, she is back to playing her favorite sport.

While she was in the hospital, she learned about kids facing many other diseases, such as cancer, heart problems, and lung disease. When her cast finally came off, Sophie was happy to be back on her feet, but sad that so many other children don’t have a simple recovery – and she wanted to do something to help them. Please help Sophie make her goal and have a wonderful 11th birthday on Jan. 1 while helping other kids. Visit her page to make a donation
