WASH-FM Brings Holiday Cheer and Raises $328,879 for Kids

The month of December is filled with holiday merriment: festive decorations, parties, and music abound at every corner. And many people in our community tap into 97.1 WASH FM’s round the clock holiday music to feel the spirit of the season.

This year, WASH FM dedicated one day of the holiday season to help raise funds for Children’s National. On Dec. 17, the first annual WASH Cares for Kids radiothon took over the main atrium of the children’s hospital playing music, patient stories, and giving testament to the great work and care Children’s National provides to local kids. Many people in our community tuned in and donated to help raise money to ensure that every child in the Washington Metro Area has access to world-class care.

The emotional day brought a grand total of $328,879.50. Donations directly impact children and families by providing services that are not covered by insurance and funding innovations that would not be possible otherwise.
