During Hanukkah, 13-year-old Madeleine Wenger of Bethesda, Md., reflects on her efforts to support children with cancer in memory of her sister Kayla. For her bat mitzvah, she raised $15,000 for Children's National. “It’s not just about raising money,” she says. “You can give food, items you don’t need anymore, and your own time through volunteerism. There are so many ways to give." In this season of gift-giving, she says, “Material things are not important to me. Always being there for your family is.”
