Guardian Society Members Lauded for Helping Kids

Nearly 100 attendees gathered at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C., on April 25, for the 7th Annual Guardian Society Luncheon, which honored the special people who have included Children's National in their wills or other estate plans. Through their generosity, these supporters provide hope and healing to future generations of sick and injured children and their families. Guardian Society members Ivy and Roberto Duke spoke about the treatment their son Ian received for hypoplastic right heart syndrome. Ian's first heart surgery occurred when he was only three days old, and he went on to endure five heart procedures before the age of 4.  Today 10-year-old Ian is healthy and thriving. “Ian really has no limits, only a great future,” Ivy said. “This is all thanks to Children’s National and the donors who help support it.” If you'd like to learn how to get involved with the Guardian Society, please contact Cindy Barrington, Assistant Director of Gift Planning, at (301) 565-4968 or [email protected].
