Doctors Experience as a Dad Provides New Perspective

Thursday, January 2, 2014

Dr. Joshua Kanter, a cardiologist at Children's National, has dedicated his career to helping young children heal. But he got a whole new perspective when his now 6-year-old son Judah was diagnosed with leukemia. "Delivering bad news is a lot harder now,” he said. “I like to think I always did it well, but there’s a visceral part of me that understands what a family’s going through like I never did before.”Read "Treating Leukemia at Children's National Involves the Whole Family," by John Kelly in the Washington Post. There's still time to contribute to the Washington Post's annual campaign to help cover the costs of care for local families. The campaign is closing in on its goal of $400,000 -- please consider making a donation at www.childrensnational.org/washingtonpost.
