Government Cant Shut Down Race for Every Child 5K

The shutdown of the federal government couldn't prevent the first-ever Race for Every Child for Children's National from being a huge success. The Oct. 5 walk/run on Pennsylvania Avenue attracted 3,900 participants and has raised over $690,000. The event included a 100-yard "Kids' Dash," and every child who finished received a medal from special guests including Dr. Bear, Batman, Spiderman, and Captain America.
