Join the Stars in Supporting Christmas in Washington

On Sunday, President and Mrs. Obama attended their fifth annual Christmas in Washington concert to benefit Children's National. Airing on TNT this Friday at 8:00 pm ET/PT and 7:00 CT, the concert features host Hugh Jackman, the Backstreet Boys, Sheryl Crow, Anna Kendrick, Janelle Monae, and Pat Monahan of Train. The show also features a special guest appearance by NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley. Dr. Kurt Newman, president and CEO of Children's National, talked about what an honor it was to share a stage with musicians, athletes, and other stars, but reminded the audience about the purpose of the show. "Tonight is about the children who bring us together for this inspiring celebration," he said. "We know that the last place a child wants to be is in the hospital. And when a child is sick, especially during the holidays, the last thing a mother or father or grandparent wants to worry about is whether they can afford the medical care....The presents that you brought tonight will bring joy to children who have to spend this holiday season in the hospital. And charitable donations from people like you will help us provide the kind of care that’s right for kids." Read about the show.
