Biography

Laurie Conklin, M.D., is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Children's National Health System. She is a diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of: the American Gastrointestinal Association; North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition; and American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Conklin is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Dr. Conklin has authored or co-authored numerous abstracts and peer-reviewed articles. She completed a research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University where she studied the lymphocyte transport of 6-mercaptopurine, a medication used to treat Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Her special clinical interests are IBD and abdominal pain, and she sees patients with all general gastrointestinal disease.
