Laura Anthony, PhD is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Pediatrics at the Children’s National Health System and the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, where she specializes in the assessment and treatment of children and teens with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families. Dr. Anthony completed a dual degree PhD program in clinical and developmental psychology at the University of Illinois, Chicago and completed her internship and fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Maryland Medical System. After training, she was on the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine for 8 years before moving to Children’s in 2006. She has been a co-investigator or principal investigator for 11 federally funded and 7 foundation research grants including being principal investigator with Dr. Kenworthy on a current Patient Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI) Health Disparities award for ASD and ADHD EF interventions. In addition to a robust clinical practice caring for children and teens, she continues her research and publishing, authoring numerous articles, treatment manuals and book chapters on identification and caring for children and teens with mental health conditions and developmental disorders.
