Biography

Karen Robbins, M.D., is a board-certified allergist, immunologist and pediatrician. She is also the director of the education program for medical students, residents and fellows within the Allergy and Immunology division at Children’s National Health System.

She received her M.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and her B.A. from the College of Wooster. Her post-graduate research training was at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a pediatric resident and a clinical allergy and immunology fellow. She was also a pediatric intern and resident at Children’s National.  

Dr. Robbins has a strong interest in food allergies, nutrition and the growth of young children. She is a native Midwesterner who currently calls Washington, D.C., home. Spending time with her family and her young daughter are the most important things in her life. When not at work, Dr. Robbins enjoys the outdoors, planning meals and cooking (often allergy and/or vegetarian-friendly), tennis, traveling and bird-watching.
