Geovanny F. Perez, M.D., is a pediatric pulmonologist in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine. He also is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Integrative Systems Biology at George Washington University and an investigator in the Center for Genetic Medicine Research. Dr. Perez's research interest focuses on translational studies investigating airway epithelial immunity, pathophysiology of viral-induced asthma and the respiratory microbiome.
Dr. Perez has received awards from the Parsons Family Foundation to study the role of the microbiome in respiratory infections and by Gilead to study epithelial immunity in cystic fibrosis. He completed his medical training in Ecuador, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Perez is fluent in Spanish and has a strong interest in working with families from Spanish-speaking backgrounds.
