Creative and Therapeutic Arts Services
Creative and Therapeutic Arts Services has provided artistic programming to patients, families and staff since 1978. A dedicated team of arts-in-healing professionals service over 20,000 patients annually and work to foster an atmosphere of cultural tolerance, promote wellness through self-expression, support patients and their families during a difficult time, offer patients choice and variety and create an aesthetically pleasing environment.
Art Therapy is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages.
Therapeutic music is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship. It is art based on the science of sound, and its live acoustics are specifically tailored to your child’s immediate need to facilitate the healing process.
Children’s National exhibits the artwork of students from the community in our galleries, displaying their artwork throughout the hospital corridors. Our focus is to encourage young people to give back in the arts or by contributing to community art activities that promote the human experience.
Children's National has a wide variety of performers bring interactive events and activities to the Costco Wholesale Atrium and to the bedsides of patients throughout the year.
