Meet Linda Krespan, RN
Linda Krespan, RN, came to Children’s National in 2001 as a contract nurse working in the post-anesthesia care unit before joining the staff in the Emergency Department (ED) a year later. She has 37 years of experience, which includes serving as a staff nurse, charge nurse, preceptor, clinical coordinator, and a specialty coordinator.
“My journey into nursing was a result of my desire to be near and help other people. I have always enjoyed being around others, which probably was a result of growing up as one of 10 children,” Krespan said.
Krespan said one of the most memorable experiences she’s had at Children’s National occurred when a fellow nurse told her that after an operation, one of her patients, “woke from anesthesia, with blurry eyes,” glanced at the nurse and “said ‘Linda’ with a huge smile on her face.”
“I had made such an impression before surgery while she was in the ED that she remembered me afterwards. But most of all, I always love the random hugs some children provide unconditionally before they leave the ED. This always brings a smile to my face,” Krespan said.
