Robin Steinhorn, M.D., is Senior Vice President of Center for Hospital Based Specialties at Children's National Health System. She is a nationally and internationally known physician-leader, clinician and researcher in the fields of neonatal perinatal medicine and fetal pulmonary development.

Dr. Steinhorn's clinical and academic interests have focused primarily on the pulmonary vascular development of the fetus and newborn. She was recently elected to the Council of the American Pediatric Society (2015-2020) and is completing a term on the American Board of Pediatrics (Neonatal Perinatal Medicine). She is an elected fellow of the American Heart Association and a member of the Perinatal Research Society and the American Thoracic Society. Dr. Steinhorn is an editor of the Journal of Pediatrics.

Dr. Steinhorn joins Children’s National from the University of California Davis School of Medicine where she served as a professor and the chair of the department of pediatrics. She also served as Physician-in-Chief for the University of California Davis Children’s Hospital.
