Message from Current Chief Residents
We are so excited for your interest in Children’s National! As the current chief residents, we wanted to take a moment to tell you why we continue to love working here. For us, the pediatric training is unmatched due to the diversity and volume of patients we take care of combined with the great faculty and fellow mentorship we receive. All of our co-residents have really taken advantage of the flexible and tailored nature of our program. Through our three core residency tracks (Categorical, Community Health Track, and Primary Care) with the addition of multiple specific residency pathways, each resident has the ability to personalize their residency experience to fit their career goals and interests. Also with protected longitudinal time for research throughout residency, via the REACH program, our residents get the opportunity to execute a project from inception to completion.
But truthfully, what connects and amplifies all these aspects of our program is our co-residents. They are our best friends, closest confidants, most effective teachers, and essentially the main reason why we continue to love it here. Luckily, living in Washington, D.C., provides us with many chances to hang out outside of work, from happy hours and brunch to live Jazz on the National Mall!
These are only a few of all the wonderful things Children’s National has to offer. We look forward to meeting you to be able to chat more about our program. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
