Nita L. Seibel, MD, is a board certified pediatrician and pediatric hematologist-oncologist.
After graduating from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in l988, she completed her internship and residency at the Ohio State University Children’s Hospital in 1984. She completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the Pediatric Oncology Branch, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health in 1987. She joined the faculty of Children's National Medical Center in 1988 and is a professor of pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. While at Children's National, she served for over 15 years on the Institutional Review Board, Director of the Hematology/Oncology Training Program for 9 years, Principal Investigator for Children's Oncology Group for Children's National Medical Center, chaired numerous studies for the Children’s Oncology Group (and previous Children's Cancer Group) including chairing the Phase I Data Safety Monitoring Committee, vice-chair for Phase I agents, and was a member of the National Wilms Tumor Study and later the COG Renal Tumor Committee.
Areas of special interest are Wilms tumor, bone tumors, ALL and adolescent and young adult oncology as well as late effects. She also has a special interest in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in the adolescent and young adults and anti-fungal agents.
