For more than 25 years, the Skeletal Dysplasia Clinic has provided multidisciplinary care for infants, children, and young adults with various forms of skeletal disorders in Washington, DC.
There are more than 200 types of skeletal dysplasias, which affect bones and joints, and interfere with development. The more recognized forms include achondroplasia and other types of dwarfism, osteogenesis imperfecta, often referred to as brittle bone disease, and birth defects such as club foot or limb deficiencies.
Whether your child has a mild or more severe skeletal dysplasia, treatment requires the expertise of specialists from many disciplines who can make the initial diagnosis and provide appropriate care as the child grows.
