The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation treats and monitors infants, children, andteens at all stages of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative care. Specialists provide acute carefor patients at Children's National Health System as well as sub-acute and post-acute care atHSC Pediatric Center inWashington, DC, and pediatric inpatient care at MedStarNational Rehabilitation Hospital, located next to Children's National.

Children's presence at all three health systems distinguishes our rehabilitative servicesfrom other programs around the country by ensuring a continuum of care with Children's doctorsand health team members who know a child's medical history and special needs.

Physical Medicine for Kids

Our goal is to help every child reach the highest level of physical, cognitive, and socialfunctioning possible - letting kids be kids and enjoy their childhood. When your child has adisability or injury, it is important to find specialists who understand how these conditions affecta child who is still growing physically and developing neurologically. For children with morecomplex disorders or illnesses, division experts can coordinate treatment and condition managementwith pediatric professionals in more than 40 disciplines at Childrens National.
