    Historic Partial Heart Transplant Replaces Pre-Teen’s Artificial Valve with a Living One

    Preston is the first child to have his artificial heart valve replaced with a living valve from a donated heart, thanks to a groundbreaking partial heart transplant performed by our cardiac team.

    Owen’s Boundless Gratitude

    Owen received lifesaving care for a rare form of epilepsy. He and his family find many ways to give thanks, including delivering lunch and hugs to hospital staff and supporting the Race for Every Child.

    The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation hosted its third annual prom at Children’s National. Teen patients enjoyed a magical night of hope, healing, community — and of course, donuts.
