Having Surgery: What to Expect
Children’s National is the only hospital in the region that specializes exclusively on children, and our team of pediatric surgeons performs more than 15,000 surgeries each year. Children’s team of surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses provides highly skilled services to infants, children and adolescents needing surgery. Children’s anesthesiologists are fellowship-trained in pediatrics and Children’s surgeons practice only on kids, providing the highest level of expertise for children having surgery.
In an effort to prepare children and families for their upcoming surgery, we have many resources online. We encourage parents and families to read through our resources so that you are best prepared for your child’s procedure. If you have questions, please contact your surgical scheduler.
