Financial Assistance

If you do not have health insurance, our financial counselors can help you through the process to determine if you’re eligible for medical assistance (Medicaid). We also can help you apply for our charity or financial assistance programs, under which part or all of your medical bills may be reduced or forgiven. Extended payment arrangements may be considered on an individual basis during your consultation with a financial counselor. If you require financial assistance or a bill payment plan, we also have several programs to assist you with making those arrangements.  Please speak with a customer service representative Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST at 202-476-3542, 1-800-787-0021, by email at bearbill@childrensnational.org, or visit our Financial Information Center in Room 1820, which is located on the first floor of the West Wing.

We will provide services without charge or at reduced charges to those unable to pay. Financial requirements must be met to qualify and they include:

  • Absence of any third-party resources, such as health insurance.
  • Non-eligibility or denial of application for Medical Assistance.
  • Completion of Financial Assistance Program application with supporting documentation.
  • Family size and household income at 350 percent of Federal Income Poverty Guidelines.
