Research Interests
Christopher Spurney, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist and has been working in the Center for Genetic Medicine for the past two years researching cardiac disease associated with muscular dystrophies. Dr. Spurney obtained a BA in biology at Cornell University and completed his medical degree at New York Medical College. He was a resident in pediatrics at Columbia University in New York and completed his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. Dr. Spurney’s research interests include non-invasive echocardiography of small animals and molecular mechanisms of cardiomyopathy.
