Research Interests
Shamir Tuchman, MD is
a
pediatric nephrologist with a special interest in pediatric kidney
stone disease as well as calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D metabolism.
He has both clinical and research expertise in determinants of stone
risk in children, bone mineral metabolism alterations in
hypercalciuria, and vitamin D status in kidney transplant patients. In
addition, Dr. Tuchman has a translational research focus on animal
models of renal calcification, such as nephrocalcinosis.
