Research Interests
Lawrence K. Jung, MD, is chief of the Division of Rheumatology. Dr.
Jung has more than 30 years of experience treating pediatric patients
with rheumatologic disorders.
Dr. Jung has been involved in translational and clinical research for
the last 30 years. He has received funding from the National Institutes
of Health and other agencies for studies in immunology and
rheumatology. He is the chief editor for pediatric rheumatology content
for eMedicine.
Under Dr. Jung’s direction, the Division of Rheumatology is part of the
national pediatric rheumatology research community, a member of
Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatism Research Alliance (CARRA) and
Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group (PRCSG).
Before joining Children’s National Medical Center, Dr. Jung was on the
Board of Directors for the Arthritis Foundation in Nebraska and
organized an annual Arthritis Camp for children with arthritis. He is
now actively involved with the Washington Chapter of the Arthritis
Foundation's patient education and advocacy efforts.
