Research Interests
Barbara Mantausch, MD, is an associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Her research interests include the study of E. coli and other gram negative infections, urinary tract infection and bacterial pathogenesis. Dr. Jantausch is interested in the host response in Urinary Tract Infection and the role of cytokines in the inflammatory response of bacterial infections. She is also interested in the epidemiology of pneumococcal infections following the availability of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine. Dr. Jantausch has been the principal investigator for several clinical trials involving new anti-infective agents and immunomodulators.
