The Center for Neuroscience Research at Children's National Medical Center seeks to understand the development of the central nervous system, including cellular development of the brain and spinal cord, in order to prevent or treat the neurological and behavioral disorders of children.

Researchers conduct basic and clinical research into some of childhood’s most well-known neurological disorders, including: Core Facilities
Several programs of this center provide services and support to every faculty member conducting research at Children’s National. Translational Research Programs
The Center for Neuroscience Research also is home to many research programs that combine basic science, clinical, and/or community research, including: Research Studies
Investigators at the Center for Neuroscience are actively recruiting volunteers for research studies on specific disorders, including:
  • Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Anxiety
  • Diagnostic techniques for the brain
  • Epilepsy
  • Mood disorders
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) 
  • Schizophrenia 
  • Sleep disorders
